At Arms Reach offers group training and one-on-one instruction. Too many people are confident beyond their skill level. Our aim is to ensure that you are safe, confident, and capable with your firearm and self defense skills.

This is a free one-hour consultation to discuss your training goals. I will meet with you by telephone, FaceTime, Skype, Teams, or in-person. All discussions are strictly confidential.

This is a two-hour in-person session that will assist you in selecting the proper handgun for your self-defense needs. $80 for a 2-hour consultation. Can easily be done in the privacy of your home.

This course focuses on the proper use of less-than-lethal force with defensive tools and tactics to help you win a fight. There will be a heavy emphasis on the use of OC spray (pepper spray). The $95 fee includes one live cannister and two inert practice canisters of POM OC product.

This one-day course focuses on the essentials of safe gun handling and also introduces the newer shooter to several defensive shooting topics such as: legal and financial considerations, pre-hospital trauma/first aid, safely drawing from the holster, presenting the gun to the target, muzzle awareness in public, movement, quickly and effectively reloading the pistol, common and difficult malfunctions, and so much more. You will need 350 rounds of ammo for this class.
Don’t yet have a pistol, or have one but don’t really like it? We have loaner 9mm pistols, holsters, and belts for you to utilize before you make your first pistol purchase!
$200 for this one-day course, and no charge for loaner pistols and support equipment.

Proper concealment of your pistol is important when moving about in public, but so is how you employ it. This 4-hour class focuses solely on the mechanics of concealed carry. We will show you a proper draw from concealment, how to get a safer, faster, and more deliberate first shot, how to move more safely with a pistol in your hands, the proper use of cover, quickly and efficiently dealing with malfunctions, and finally, we give you some drills to take home for use in dry practice and on the range. To be eligible for this class, you must be able to demonstrate that you have mastered the principles of safety and are a competent marksman with a pistol. There will be a practice test midway through the class and a scored test at the end. You will need 250 rounds for this class. Cost is $125.

This is a two-day, 16-hour class that covers in depth the necessary handgun skills for the more advanced shooter. You must have a prerequisite of the At Arms Reach Essential Pistol or equivalent training before enrollment will be accepted. The cost of the class is $400. You will need your regular concealed carry setup (pistol, suitable holster, belt, and spare magazine carrier) and 500 rounds of ammunition.

Urban Rifle is an 8-hour course that covers aspects of using a rifle in an urban setting for self defense. AR-15 or similar platform taught. $225 for the 8-hour class.

Hourly Coaching/Private Instruction is a way that many people learn best. It’s one-on-one and focused to your specific needs and skills. $40/hour. No minimum time.

NRA Chief Range Safety Officer and At Arms Reach owner David Rawlings teaches this 9-hour class to make you an NRA certified RSO for your organization, or simply for your personal development. Course comes with lesson plan you take home.
